Wow, it is already nearly five and a half months into the year 2015. I feel like it is passing me by. First of all. I tore the meniscus in my right knee at the end of 2014. I went to the doctor and knee surgery was recommended. I decided to put off the surgery until after April 15. I did this because as a tax accountant the majority of the work load is in the first four months of the year. I did not realize how much exercise gets me through all the pressure I feel during this time. I took up swimming but it was not the same as jogging or using the spin bike. For one thing, I do not think I have actually tried to swim since I was in high school. If I remember correctly, I would not put my head in the water because I did not want to get my hair wet. It has taken several months to swim one lap freestyle and I am still not very good at it. Tax season came and went. I put on a few pounds due to lack of exercise and poor eating habits. My knee surgery was two weeks ago. I have started physical therapy. Today was my first day using the recumbent bike. I could not make the pedals make a complete revolution. My head knows that it takes time heal. I also saw how long it took the Chief to recover from his knee replacement surgery. But having to deal with it personally stinks.
Now the other big thing that is happening is our kitchen remodel. We talked about this and decided to remodel during the summer at the end of June or middle of July. Somehow that project is going on right now. To date we have been two weeks without a kitchen. Do you know how hard it is to fix a meal with no stove or sink….well, now I know and I don’t like it one bit. Today the workman put up the drywall and may start putting in the cabinets tomorrow. The most nerve racking thing about a kitchen remodel is the budget and color schemes. I wake up in the middle of the night worried that the “new kitchen” is going to look horrible, especially since it is costing a lot of money. Then on some days I think that the kitchen needed to be remodeled. The original house was built in 1981. The kitchen cabinets were the originals. I think that about 13 years ago we replaced the formica counter tops with new formica. I think that we repainted the cabinets twice since we moved into the house in 1984.
Here are some pictures of the kitchen remodeling.
Demolition – All the drywall was pulled off today and replaced.
New drywall.
Decisions, decisions and more decisions. I did not know how stressful making decisions can be.
Well, that is just a small bit of what has been happening and causing me to have the blahs.

You are walking so good though! Sunday night I would have never guessed you’d had surgery 😊 kitchen looks great too, can’t wait to see the finished project!!!
