Ice Day In Houston

What a funny video.  It does sometimes – on very rare occasions get colder than 37 degrees in Houston.  Any tiny bit of snow or ice does call for all day news casting and time off from school and work.

I did take the chance of getting on the roads to drive a whopping 5 miles to work.  I had to cross three ice covered bridges.  Of course, I drove to work at about 10:00 am so I am not sure how much ice was on the road at that time.  I did take some pictures of the ice just in case  so people do not believe that it can get that cold here.

A Hard to Answer Question that Children Ask

I have forgotten how hard it is to answer those questions that young children like to ask.  I came across this video and thought this was hilarious.

Exercise Inspiration Video

This morning I was having a hard time getting started – feeling lazy, not wanting to exercise.  I was feeling down because I have started this challenge on “Walking off Every Bulge”  and I am having a hard time being honest about writing down what I eat.  I like to think of myself as an honest person who can keep their promises – even when these promises are to myself.  But I am discovering that I can’t.   I cheat all the time.  But then I was looking at some of the stories on Sparkpeople.com and I came across this video.  It was just what I needed to day to get up and start moving.

Musical instrument of the Future

What an interesting musical instrument!! It seems to me that this is an electric guitar, piano, and maybe saxaphone all combined together. What do you think?

Amazing Video – Indoor Cycling

A friend of my sent me this You Tube link and I think these sisters are amazing. This video is of the 2009 European Championships Indoorcycling. I know that I would not be able to do that with a bicycle. These sisters must trust each other a lot.

Texting while driving! Warning Very Graphic!

This video is making the rounds on face book.  I thought it was very powerful.  It reminded me a lot of when my daughter participated in the Shattered Dreams program during her senior year.  Shattered Dreams is a dramatization of teenage drinking and driving.  The end result is that one teenager is killed and the other ones life is dramatically changed when dealing with the results of mixing alcohol and driving.  As a parent it is very hard to write an obituary on your child – even when it is just an exercise to prove a point.  Maybe this video will help others see how dangerous texting and driving can be.

Mission Quotes set to Music

This was tweeted to me today and I thought I would share it on my blog.  The pictures are great.  Hope you enjoy it too.
