This Friday Marc and I both had the day off. After completing some chores, mainly grocery shopping. We headed to the beach with one stop at DSW. For those that do not know, DSW is this huge shoe store. They only sell shoes and they have all kinds. Today I was looking for some new Merrill’s. A few years ago I had some feet problems and the foot doctor recommended athletic shoes to wear most of the time during the day. He recommended this type of shoe so that inserts can fit into the shoe. This is not pretty or stylish when you work in an office and wear slacks everyday. Anyway, I settled for Merrell’s.

Here is a picture of the new shoes. Im not sure how much I like the back of the shoe. The rubber goes way up the back. They seem more sporty.
After much thought, I decided that I would buy them and to heck with style. I guess it is a sign that I’m getting old…..that I want to buy the same style of something I like because it is comfortable rather that stylish.
After the shoe store, we headed to Galveston Island. This time we went to Pocket Park #1. Just Skid-O-Cans (otherwise know as portable toilets) for toilets. In the summer they can be a real sauna. The plus to the park – you could drive your vehicle on the sand. The beach was crowded. Probably because the day before was the last day of school. The water was cool and pretty clear for a summer day here.

I also spent time doing something with all those tiny Roma tomatoes. Yep….it is salsa time. Last year I put up 49 jars of salsa. This year…who knows. It is taking quite a few tomatoes to make these 8 jars.
Wow, it is already Sunday….time for bed.
