Minestrone with Fennel and Wild Garlic.
My first attempt at making this recipe. I did have to make some substitutions. For one thing my minestrone does not contain garlic chives, fava beans or fregula pasta. These items are not in my local store. 😢

Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!
And I am most thankful for my friends. So sing along with Mr. Rodgers –
You are my friend
You are special
You are my friend
You’re special to me.
You are the only one like you.
Like you, my friend, I like you.
In the daytime
In the nighttime
Any time that you feel’s the right time
For a friendship with me, you see
F-R-I-E-N-D special
You are my friend
You’re special to me.
There’s only one in this wonderful world
You are special.
Some Thanksgiving 2019 Memories❤️

Trying out the new journal app called Day One. I’m using the free version. The idea is to record thanksgiving. This morning hearing the birds sing as I take a quick walk before breakfast.❤️
You have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you – Confessions of Augustine
In The book “Prayer: Experiencing Awe and Intimacy With God” by Timothy Keller, he states that the above quote means if you love anything at all in this world more than God, you will crush that object under the heavy weight of your expectations, and it will eventually break your heart.
I wonder how much of my disappointments in my life are because I loved something more than I loved God.

Can you believe that all of January and over half of February has gone by!!! I did pick a word for the year and I had every intention of posting it early in January. I will go with the phrase – better late than never.
Hope is a word that looks toward the future. I hope that 2019 will be a year full of good things for me and my family. As the year goes by I plan to post things that give me a better understanding of this word I have chosen to focus on in 2019.
This morning in worship service we studied about being “born again to a living hope”. As a child of God, my hope is living…through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that ….does not perish….is undefiled….does not fade. Guess where this inheritance is located. That’s right….heaven. How wonderful is that!!! And it is being guarded by God’s power through faith for a salvation to be revealed in the last time. Hope….Living Hope. Something to ponder this week.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time”

It is that time of year I get out my new calendar and start transferring birthdays and other information onto the fresh new pages. Here is a list of some of the things that occurred in 2018. It was nice to flip through the calender and recall the happy times and some not so happy times.
I am praying for a very Prosperous and Happy New Year for all my family and friends.
